Distilleria Diplomático was founded in 1959 in the Lara Region, in the vast and fertile countryside near the city of Barquisimeto. In the late 90s, a group of Venezuelan entrepreneurs led by José Rafael Ballesteros, whose family already ran an important company in the sector, purchased the distillery and the sugar cane production lands. The Lara region, where Rum Diplomático is produced, is one of the most valuable areas for growing sugar cane. The different distillation techniques used and the exceptional storage in barrels allow Rum Diplomático to develop its extraordinary virtues. Today, the dream of those pioneers to produce one of the best rums in the world comes true in 63 countries where it is exported and appreciated with great success. Reserva Exclusiva is an elegant and complex tasting rum. Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva is an elegant and complex tasting rum, carefully crafted from the purest sugar cane honey and a smaller amount of molasses. It is delicately distilled in old copper pot-stills for the heavy rums and in column and batch kettle stills for the remaining 20% ​​of light and semi-heavy rums. It is aged in small oak barrels for up to twelve years.
